During the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five communication apps in Sweden exhibited noteworthy trends in downloads and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at their performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Kivra Sweden saw a significant rise in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 57.8K in late November. Active users also showed a notable increase, reaching a high of around 612.6K during the same period. However, by the end of December, active users had decreased to about 466.6K.

Messenger had a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 13.2K and 17.5K. Weekly revenue showed a steady increase, peaking at approximately $291 in early December. Active users remained fairly consistent, hovering around 3M with minor fluctuations.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady weekly download rate, with numbers ranging from 14.1K to 24.5K. Active users remained stable, averaging around 2.8M throughout the quarter.

Snapchat experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 20.9K in mid-December. Active users also saw an upward trend, reaching approximately 2.58M by the end of the quarter. Revenue fluctuated, with a high of $240 in mid-October and a low of $8 in early December.

Telegram showed a consistent download rate, with weekly numbers ranging from 6.1K to 9.9K. Active users remained stable, averaging around 333K throughout the quarter.
